The American Legion Aux., unit 389 is holding a “virtual 5k” where all participants set their own 3.1-mile course and walk or run that course sometime between April 25 and May 1, 2020.

Just pull out your favorite Bunny Hop 5K shirt from years past, and run or walk your own 3.1-mile route between April 25 and May 1, 2020, to take part in this year’s “Virtual Bunny Hop 5K”.  Take a selfie as you cross your own finish line and post it on the Bunny Hop 5K Facebook page using the hashtag #VirtualBH5K20!  Scroll below to register.

While there are no timers, no awards and no prize baskets, Unit 389 seeks to raise funds for the Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Squad and important community initiatives.  Our local first responders need resources now more than ever! Join us as we “race virtually together, but physically apart.”

2020 T-SHIRTS: In addition to supporting our first responders in this time of need, we also want to recognize our amazing sponsors and our local artist, with her winning 18th Annual Bunny Hop t-shirt design.  All participants who register for the virtual 5k will receive an official 18th Annual Bunny Hop t-shirt featuring the winning design on the front and our lead sponsors on the back.  Once we get through the State of Emergency and mandated shutdowns, you can pick up your Bunny Hop t-shirt at Wainwright’s Jewelry!

Organizers want to emphasize that participants should not gather together.  We must continue to isolate as much as possible and maintain social distancing when running or walking our 3.1-mile routes.

REGISTRATION: We greatly encourage the use of our no-contact sign-up method using online registration at https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Beverly/BeverlyWaterfordBunnyHop5kRunWalk.

Online registration is open through April 24, 2020.

We are in a fight against COVID 19, and our biggest weapon is learning how to maintain social distancing in all we do.  That includes participating in this year’s virtual Bunny Hop 5K!

We hope you’ll join us in spirit as we carry on the tradition of the Bunny Hop in a new way and support Unit 389’s efforts raising funds for the Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Squad and the Unit’s community programs.
